Walking on Water
'I was twelve years old the first time I walked on water. The man in black clothes taught me how to do it, and i'm not going to pretend I learned that trick over night'
Mister Vertigo', Paul Auster
My response to this quote was to create a series of photographs representing a girls memory of this act, because children have very creative and imaginative minds I played on the idea that it might be a 'trick on the mind' and the act never actually occured.
I created a distressed look by manipulating the photographs by hand, this was my way of visualising a memory which had been slightly distorted by age. Memories are never a clear image.
